On paper the Greenworks GD40CS18K2X Cordless Chainsaw with Brushless Motor, 40cm Bar Length, 20m/s Chai comes down to a 40 cm (16 in) bar and battery power.
The usable cutting length is 40 cm, which puts this saw squarely on timber up to around 35 cm. The working rule is to keep the bar about 5 cm longer than the wood you cut most.
Battery saws suit pruning, garden work and light firewood. The pack usually costs more than the tool, so check whether this is sold as a bare tool and whether it runs batteries you already own.
Specifications are as published by the manufacturer or the retailer listing rather than measured by us. Always check the figures on the product page before buying.
