Budget Chainsaws
A filter grouping the cheapest third of the catalogue.
This is a filter rather than a buying category: it groups the cheapest third of the catalogue. There are 72 saws in it. It is deliberately kept out of search results, because the useful way to shop is by power source or by bar length.
Budget here means price rather than quality grade. Expect smaller engines or lower voltages, simpler construction and ordinary chains. A budget saw with a sharp chain still cuts; what you give up is vibration damping, filtration and the ease of getting parts in three years.

A better way to narrow it down
Start with the job. Decide the bar length from the thickest wood you cut regularly, add about 5 cm, then pick the power source: petrol for firewood and felling, cordless for pruning and garden work, corded for the most cutting power per pound within reach of a socket.
Then compare within that group: 12 inch, 14 inch, 16 inch, 18 inch or 20 inch.
