How do you fit the chain and what is the right way round.
As you hold the saw, the points of the chain links must point away from you on the top of the chain guide, and towards you on the bottom of the chain guide. Then put the gear case back on and slowly tighten the chain to the required amount – once the chain is tightened you should still be able to lift it about 3/8ths of an inch off the guide – less means it is too tight, more means it isn`t tight enough
what size file is correct sharpening tool please, or does it matter ?
For mine I use a 3/16th, (4.8mm) file. If this is your first attempt, go carefully – Google chainsaw sharpening on the web and get some top tips before you start, then don’t let the blade get blunt again, just a few swishes with the file when you top up the oil keeps it in good shape.
Weight is quoted as only 0.8kg - surely not?
No oil supplied. I have always used 10W 40. in all my chainsaws with no problems.
Don’t know about “special “ chainsaw oil. Just keep it topped up before use.
